My daughter Daphne is a shining star of excellence, and I am delighted to be partnering with her in this exciting venture! 

 

Daphne has a warm and charming personality that instantly endears her to others.  Wherever she is, with her undying wit and charm, she creates a cheerful and harmonious environment, and develops teamwork and co-operation among her co-workers that is beautiful to see.  When entering a new situation, Daphne is able to bring order out of chaos in no time.  In her work, there is no detail too small to be overlooked, and the end result is a product of functional beauty and polished perfection.  There is no technical problem that she cannot resolve, and with tenacity and energy, each issue is analyzed, deciphered and dealt with in an appropriate manner – and you can be certain that her result is accurate to the nth degree!

 

She has worked in a variety of industries, ranging from non-profit organizations, to Doctor's offices, to a ship-to-shore communication company, to a commercial real estate firm, to a wildly fun ski resort - preparing complete financial statements and 'slicki-fying' accounting processes and procedures since she was 17 years old. 

 

On the other hand, Daphne is also a fun-loving, adventurous woman who puts the same whole-hearted energy into her personal life as she does into her career.  She has been seen hurtling down the ski-runs at Sun Peaks Resort, sailing and snorkeling among the islands of Tonga, swimming with the dolphins in the waters of Mexico, all with the same enthusiasm that she radiates in the corporate board room.  When you have Daphne as a friend, you have her for life – she never ever forgets you! -- a wonderful quality in today’s ‘rolling stone’ society.

My Mother has been an inspiration and a motivation to me since the day I was born.  I am beyond thrilled to now also call her my business partner!!  And we DO intend to take over the world!

 

I have not ever forgotten her words to me when I was very young.... "If you really work hard towards what you want, there is NO WAY in the world it will not happen!" 

 

No bones about it – my Mom practices what she preaches.  As a mature student, she returned to University and obtained a Bachelor degree in Music, followed by a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology, an interdisciplinary degree encompassing History, Music and Anthropology.  However, although music is very important in her life, accounting practices and procedures have always been her true love, and over the years, she has developed an impressive accounting and tax clientele in Canada.  She is meticulous in her attention to detail and unwavering in her quest to surpass all of her clients’ expectations, as you will see from the remarks of some of her clients.

 

And NOW?  Here we are - working together!  I am so lucky to have her at my side while life takes us on THE best ride!  Not only is she fab at the numbers, she is the BOMB at partaking in ALL of life's FUN things - just look below - all taken within the last 3 years!  My Mother continues to give life everything she's got - whether it be kayaking the islands of Vava'u, white-water rafting the rapids of British Columbia, riding the rim of the Grand Canyon on a mule, sailing & snorkeling in the South Pacfic with our dearest Aussie mates or exceeding her clients' expecations  in unexpected ways!  She tackles each new project with that same zesty enthusiasm that she has for life!

P.S.  Our next adventure will be zip-lining in the cloud forest of Costa Rica!  But ssshhh.... she doesn't know that yet!
